Pre-Treatment Preparation
- Avoid Sun Exposure: Do not tan or expose the treatment area to direct sun (including self-tanner) for at least 2 weeks before your session.
- Avoid Certain Medications: Discontinue use of blood thinners and anti-inflammatory medications as advised by your practitioner, usually a few days prior to treatment.
- No Skin Irritation: Avoid chemical peels, exfoliation, waxing, or other laser treatments on the area for 2 weeks before.
- Clean Skin: Arrive with the area clean and free of lotions, oils, makeup, or numbing creams.
- Hydration: Stay well-hydrated before your appointment to support the body’s natural ink-clearing process.
- Medical Disclosure: Inform your provider if you are pregnant, breastfeeding, have a history of keloid scarring, or have active skin conditions in the area.
⚠️ If the area is sunburned, irritated, or broken, your treatment may need to be rescheduled.
During the Treatment
- Laser Application: Advanced laser technology is applied to the tattoo, targeting ink particles beneath the skin.
- Ink Fragmentation: The laser breaks the ink into microscopic particles that your body gradually removes through the lymphatic system.
- Sensation: Clients typically experience a snapping or warming sensation during treatment. Cooling methods are used to enhance comfort.
- Session Length: Treatment time varies depending on tattoo size, color, and location, typically lasting a few minutes to 30 minutes.

- Redness & Swelling: Mild redness, swelling, or warmth in the treated area is normal and temporary.
- Skin Reaction: The area may appear white or frosted immediately after treatment—this typically subsides within minutes.
- Tenderness: Mild discomfort similar to a sunburn may be felt for several hours to a day.

- Keep Area Clean & Dry: Gently cleanse the area and pat dry.
- Cold Compress: Apply as needed to reduce swelling during the first 24 hours.
- Healing Ointment: Apply the recommended post-care ointment as instructed.
- Avoid Heat & Friction: No hot showers, saunas, steam rooms, or intense workouts for 48 hours.
- No Picking: Do not pop blisters or pick scabs if they form.
- Avoid Swimming: Refrain from pools, ocean, and hot tubs until the skin is fully healed.
- Loose Clothing: Wear loose-fitting clothing over the treated area to prevent irritation.
Healing and Results
- Normal Healing: Redness, swelling, blistering, or scabbing may occur and typically resolves within 7–14 days.
- Gradual Fading: Ink fades progressively over several weeks as the body clears the fragmented pigment.
- Sun Protection: Avoid sun exposure for 2–4 weeks after treatment. Once healed, apply SPF 30+ to the area.
- Multiple Sessions: Most tattoos require multiple sessions for optimal removal, spaced 6–8 weeks apart, depending on ink color, depth, and skin type.
