Brown Spots/ Scar Treatment

Pre-Treatment Preparation

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Minimize sun exposure and avoid tanning for at least two weeks before your treatment.
• Discontinue Certain Products: Stop using retinoids, exfoliants, and other harsh skincare products a few days before the treatment.
• Hydration: Ensure your skin is well-hydrated in the days leading up to your treatment.

During the Treatment 

• Cleansing: Your skin will be thoroughly cleansed to remove any makeup, oil, and impurities.
• Protective Eyewear: You will be given protective eyewear to shield your eyes from the laser light.
• Laser Application: The Candela GentleMax Pro Plus device will be used to deliver laser pulses to the pigmented areas, targeting melanin without damaging the surrounding skin.
• Sensation: You may feel a slight snapping or stinging sensation as the laser pulses are delivered, but the device’s cooling system helps to minimize discomfort.

Immediately After the Treatment

• Redness and Swelling: Expect some redness and mild swelling in the treated areas, which can last from a few hours to a couple of days.
• Darkening of Pigmented Spots: Pigmented spots may darken initially before they begin to fade.
• Tightness and Sensitivity: Your skin might feel tight and slightly sensitive to touch.

Post- Treatment Care

• Avoid Sun Exposure: Protect the treated areas from sun exposure by using a broad-spectrum sunscreen with SPF 30 or higher.
• Gentle Skincare: Use mild, non-irritating skincare products and avoid active ingredients like retinoids and acids for a few days.
• Moisturize: Keep your skin hydrated with a gentle, non-comedogenic moisturizer.
• Avoid Heat: Avoid hot showers, saunas, and activities that may cause excessive sweating for 24-48 hours post-treatment.

Healing and Results

• Flaking and Crusting: Treated pigmented spots may flake or form a crust as they heal. Do not pick at these areas to avoid scarring.
• Fading of Pigmentation: Over the next few weeks, you will notice gradual fading of the pigmented areas as the skin heals and regenerates.
• Multiple Sessions: For optimal results, multiple sessions (typically 2-4) spaced 4-6 weeks apart may be recommended depending on the severity of pigmentation.
